Leslie Knope said it best “We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn’t matter, but work is third.” so let’s ignore work and focus on the waffles and friends. Galentine’s day is, to me, about giving friendships as much love and appreciation as the other long-term relationships in your life!
This year I am celebrating with a #swapluck; I keep hashtagging it because I want to make this a trend, that’s how it works right?
Steps for a successful #swapluck
-
Phone some friends and see who's down!
-
Assign parts of the meal: main, sides, dessert, drinks! You can go as simple as one person makes dinner and the other dessert or divvy up a four-course meal. You do you!
-
Do a quick check on allergies and dietary restrictions
-
Arrange a time to swap outside or through porch drops, just keep it socially distanced, and remember to mask up!
-
Pick a movie to watch together and keep the group chat open, but feel free to ditch the zoom link.
