Ingredients

Hot Honey Saltines

  • 2 sleeves saltine crackers
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

Whipped Goat Cheese

  • 10 oz goat cheese room temperature
  • 2 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Hot Honey Saltines

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the vegetable oil, honey, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute, until combined and fragrant.
  • Place the saltines in a large mixing bowl. Pour the hot honey mixture over the crackers and toss gently but thoroughly until evenly coated.
  • Lay the saltines in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. (you might need 2 baking sheets)
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and candied but not burnt. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.

Whipped Goat Cheese

  • In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, whip the goat cheese, cream cheese, and salt until light, fluffy, and doubled in volume, about 3–4 minutes.

To Serve

  • Serve the cooled hot honey saltines on a platter with the whipped goat cheese for dipping.

Notes

Storage: Crackers can be made up to 1 week in advance. Cool completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature.
